Hello everyone..

Sorry been a bit slow on the update, had many things going on, have been testing out a new lens and doing a lot of scouting for new birds and locations, have many images to share and I will add them to my Birds folders, please visit those for particular species.

I went to Tilley Swamp Reserve yesterday in search of the very in (South Australia) endangered Southern Emu Wren, after a lot of moving and walking around I was so very lucky to find a pair just going about their day, managed to get some lovely images, hope you like them, this was a first sighting for me so was very happy as you could imagine. before I found these I came across a beautiful family of Superb Fairy Wrens, always a photo opportunity with these guys too.

Hello Again…

Had a great day at the Tolderol Game Reserve yesterday, quite a variety of birds to see and capture even though it was minus 3 degrees on my way there!

Always a great place to visit and even the drive in to the Reserve if you look carefully there are birds on the way

Well my first Blog update, went down south with a long time Buddy chasing some coastline sunset images, well usual luck, the sky just would not do its magic for us, oh well, that's photography for ya, didn't matter, many giggles and laughs were had, very amusing watching Nathan trying to land his drone as we were perched rather precariously on the rocks, wind was blowing and waves were crashing all around us and to top it off it was almost dark! I haven't laughed so much for ages, I could have sworn either the Mavic was going for a swim, Nathan was going for a swim, or everything was going to get smashed to pieces on the rocks, oh strewth, I am still laughing, anyways, we all live for another day and the shutters on the camera's were never going to wear out this day...maybe next time?

Blog update, went down South with a long time friend to a fabulous little beach named Carrickalinga beach, we have shot down here many times but we have never had the sky light up for us, well the sun Gods were smiling down on us last night!

Hello again,

Well its been a little while, after a very long think and a fair bit of trepidation I have decided to jump ship with my Camera equipment, I have only ever shot using Canon and over time been lucky enough to use their best equipment available but I thought its time to try something new so I am in the process of changing over to the Sony system.

So far I am very happy to admit it has been a fairly seamless and enjoyable process and I am already seeing the fruits of my decision, it will be a steep learning curve to get to grips with my new toys but I am up for a challenge, the main thing for me is image quality and ease of capturing that image, hopefully with time it might reflect in my photos lets see - lol?

Hi there...

Just came back from a few days camping up at the Gluepot reserve, was my first trip there so was mainly exploring and finding my way around and working out where are some good places etc. to find some birds, they have 5 fantastic bird hides set up with watering troughs for the birds and they provide superb platforms to see and capture some of the amazing birdlife up there, the camp grounds are well maintained and just perfect for a few days spotting, I will be back for sure, I had a wonderful trip.

Hello once more

Back for another update, I have had a couple of great mornings capturing those aerial fishing masters the diving Terns down at the Coorong National Park, met up with a fabulous fellow Photographer, "Hi Gary", had many serious giggles and failures trying to capture these fast flying acrobats and somehow managed even a few nice images.

Well that's it for now, take great care and will be back soon....

Bye for now

Back again,

Been a bit quiet here, the winter weather has come in and the birds, motivation and light are all a bit scarce, bit I did manage to do a quick trip back up to Morgan South Australia  in search of Red Capped Robins and Splendid Fairy wrens, Sony have recently released their new 400mm f2.8 lens but that is well out of my pay grade and I have been in need of a long lens so I thought I would try out the Sigma 150-600mm Sport lens with the Sigma MC-11 adapter, dosn't do a bad job really, not much use for flying birds but stationary subjects is an option til Sony releases there 200-600mm next year..

Also...

just uploaded another quick little video of a Little Cormorant swallowing a huge fish down at the Coorong National Park I captured the whole sequence at 20 FPS still images on my Sony A9, I cant believe this bird managed to get the whole fish down, it was nearly as large as himself!!
