Explore the Mallee, Patchewollock Victoria

Hello again,

Just back from another trip to Explore the Mallee in Patchewollock Victoria, its been a while and a few cancelled trips due to restrictions etc but was so very much worth getting back to this beautiful part of the Mallee.

Michael and Louise are the perfect hosts and the “Roost” is such a lovely little cottage to stay and use as your base to explore this wonderful part of Victoria.

We did a few trips into Wyperfeld National Park and explored around there as my target species was the stunning Pink Cockatoo, it took some work but was so very lucky to find a few birds in some lovely light one morning and spent some amazing time with these beautiful birds, it is always such a privileged to see let alone photograph these stunning birds and being able to make a few images and then slowly get away with the birds going about their day just makes it a dream result.

Here are just a few images from this trip, hope you enjoy them….

An unmistakable cockatoo of the dry inland, Major Mitchell's Cockatoo is the only Australian cockatoo that is salmon-pink below and white above. It is also called the Pink Cockatoo

A beautiful Pink Cockatoo inflight is a sight to behold and would have to be my favorite Bird.

The Silo Art at Patchewollock

Had such a fabulous time at Explore the Mallee, spent a good amount of time looking around their 168 acre property and found plenty of beautiful birds and subjects to photograph, the passion and dedication to nature both Michael and Louise have is very so addictive and genuine and it shows with their knowledge and experience, you walk away learning a lot, I certainly did

Cant wait for another adventure around this beautiful part of Victoria and the Mallee, thank you so very much Michael & Louise for sharing your hospitality, many laughs and showing us around your stunning part of Mallee at Patchewollock in Victoria.
